Biography

Katie Shammas has over 20 years professional experience in bringing stakeholders together for environmental and sustainability outcomes. She currently leads the City of Sydney’s work with the business community to reduce emissions, water and waste. In 2018, together with stakeholders, she launched the Sustainable Destination Partnership to drive best practice sustainability across the hotel and entertainment sector. She now supports partnerships across both the tourism and commercial office sectors to accelerate action towards the City’s ambitious goals for a green and sustainable city, including net zero emissions by 2035.
