Biography

Peter Garrett is Managing Director of the multi award-winning mySmart, a national company leading the way in building integration solutions.

 Since co-founding mySmart in 2001, Peter has overseen the delivery of several hospitality projects. In 2020 alone, mySmart delivered guest room management, lighting control and energy management solutions to over 1000 hotel rooms and front of house areas for several brands including W Hotel, Ovolo, Crystalbrook, Little National, Crowne Plaza, A.C. Marriott and Pullman.

 Peter has played an integral part in the success and corresponding growth of these technologies in the Australian marketplace. Committed to providing best practice technology that deliver better guest experience while optimising efficiency, superior energy outcomes and reduced operating costs, mySmart partners with leading brands in lighting controls (ABB, Schneider, Ekinex and Signify), hospitality solutions (Honeywell INNCOM and iRis) and emerging technologies that will set new standards in guestroom management (AuVerte).

 In 2011, Australia’s KNX National Group was established with Peter as founding member and appointed Secretary. The group’s advocacy led to KNX Protocol being adopted as an Australian Technical Specification and growing the KNX footprint in Australia.

Prior to founding mySmart, Peter worked in Engineering and Project Management at the Heyday Group and Memorex Telex.
