With a career spanning over 35 years, Richard Munao is one of Australia’s thought leaders in the furniture and design industry. He began his career as a cabinet-maker before founding Cult in 1997. Since then, Cult has grown into Australia and New Zealand’s leading full-service design destination for both retail and commercial markets. Richard is actively involved in discovering and mentoring emerging Australian design talent, and in recent years diversified into the production and retail of Australian design through his brand, nau. He is also passionate about advocacy against replica furniture and sustainability, having recently launched Cultivated; an in-house sustainability program that provides buy back, refurbishment and recycling services for authentic designer furniture.
