Biography

From the age of 16 years Karen Taylor worked in hospitality. This experience highlighted the costs incurred when design solutions did not reflect the unique opportunities for the project or failed to understand the practical considerations for operations to deliver a successful outcome.

Graduating Dux of Hotel Management from William Angliss, Karen then went on to study Interior Architecture. Her vision to offer investors, owners and operators a unique skill set that would help achieve the best possible outcome financially for their investment.

At 24 years of age, Karen was appointed General Manager responsible for the design fit out and project management of what grew to become Australia’s 10th largest hotel group at that time. As Group General Manager Karen was responsible for the redevelopment, re-launching of each new property from concept design and then for pre and post opening operations, over the ensuing 8 years.

This role led to a rare combination of hands on management experience over a very diverse range of traditional hotels, boutique luxury resorts, iconic blue chip event venues cafe and restaurants both within Australia and overseas. Karen consistently delivered business turnarounds and award winning international accolade for her role in operations and design.

A visionary that builds for the future and sustainable success, Karen also designs in to her solutions opportunity to leverage each project for invaluable PR, marketing exposure and revenue driving opportunities.

Karens’ driving purpose with Taylor Dade is to achieve the best possible outcome without
compromise each and every time, for each and every project. For the investor, the operator, the
